Work description
- maintenance of the collections of the Department of Invertebrate Zoology
- maintenance of the Slovenian Archive of Animal Sounds and its database
- Ectoparasites of birds and mammals
- Taxonomy, faunistics, Siphonaptera, Hippoboscidae, Palearctic. Ecology of natural cycles of zoonoses (Hantavirus, borrelia and rickettsiae). Bioacoustics singing cicadas (Hemiptera: Cicadomorpha) and birds (Aves).
Prizes and Awards
- 2002: Award Zlati legat tor the best Slovenian work in the field of ornithology in 2002 for the audio CD Forest birds of Slovenia.
- First prize at the Nature 2005 Exhibition of the Grča Photography Association for the slide The Fly.
- 2008: Valvasor Award for 2007, the original implementation of the exhibition Secrets of the forest
- Golden sign of the Slovenian Entomological Society of Štefan Michiel (awarded in 2015).
- Acknowledgment of the Rijeka Museum of Natural History for long-term cooperation and contribution to the development of the museum’s activities on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of its operation and the 70th anniversary of its public operation (year 2016)
