Stones and jewelry have been closely interconnected since time immemorial. This time we tell millions of years old stories in a fresh and modern way of design of jewelry, into which precious stones from Slovenian deposits have been set. Some exceptional handmade pieces that stem from Slovenia’s rich natural heritage and present stones set in jewelry in a completely new way are on display. At the exhibition, few prominent jewelry designers and goldsmiths are taking part, as well as students from the Tina Mežek Goldsmith School, who are contributing, with their creations, to the preservation and development of Slovenian handicraft.
The exhibition has been set up by academic sculptor Dalija Sega and goldsmith Tina Mežek in collaboration with Dr Miha Jeršek and the Slovenian Museum of Natural History, in partnership with the Slovenian Jewelry Week (SIJW), which firmly supports the international recognition of Slovenian contemporary design. The majority of the stones have been polished by Dejan Šauperl.
The exhibition is on display at the Slovenian Museum of Natural History from 22th to 27th November 2024.
