The Slovenian Museum of Natural History is pleased to put on display calcite crystals from the Velika Pirešica quarry, donated by collector Dejan Šauperl.
In this quarry, collectors have discovered a stunning variety of calcite crystals, their special feature being their twin formations and two distinct generations of crystals. While these crystals are usually colourless or white, thin layers of other minerals can give them beautiful shades of yellow, orange, or even black.
On view from 4 December 2024 to 3 April 2025
