Although it seems that nothing is changing deep below the Earth’s surface, stalactites grow and other sig forms are formed even in the karst underground. Mostly very slowly, but sometimes surprisingly fast. Interesting creatures also live in the underground, specially adapted to the eternal darkness, lack of nutrients, constant temperature… Over the millennia, they have changed to the point that they bear little resemblance to their relatives who live on the surface. We will go underground and make important cave dwellers, which are crucial for maintaining life in caves – bats.
Workshops cycle: CHANGES
We have prepared a series of Saturday workshops for children in conjunction with the exhibition In the Vortex of Change, which is on display in Cankarjev dom until November 5, 2023. With the museum collections, through games and entertainment, and happy socializing with peers, children will learn that nothing in nature is eternal, everything changes. The universe changes, with evolution life changes, changes can be observed in the change of seasons, between day and night, in the life of different species and each individual individual. Humanity is also changing, and its impact on the environment and life on Earth is already showing serious consequences. In nine workshops, we will venture into space, into the time of dinosaurs, and into mountains, forests, caves, the sea and meadows, and along rivers. And of course we will create and learn and have fun while doing so.
The workshops start at 11 a.m. and last an hour and a half. They are suitable for children aged 5 to 12 only, younger children need the accompaniment and help of an adult. In order to ensure a safe environment and the quality of the performance, the number of children is limited (25). We do not accept reservations. Children who will participate in five workshops from the WANDERINGS cycle will receive recognition and gifts.
